Dr Ng: Adherence by All Countries to a Common Set of Rules is Key to Preserving Collective Peace and Stability

 

 

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen is in Germany from 14 to 16 February 2025 (Singapore time) to speak at the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC). The MSC is an annual high-level security conference that brings together heads of government, defence and foreign ministers, parliamentarians, military leaders, and security experts from around the world. This year's MSC covers a wide range of security issues such as geopolitical and security developments in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and other security issues.

Dr Ng spoke at the MSC Main Panel Discussion on the topic "Making Waves: Maritime Tensions in the Indo-Pacific", together with Philippines Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique Manalo, Founding Chair of the Center for International Security and Strategy at Tsinghua University Fu Ying, and Member of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Senator Christopher Coons (D-Delaware).

Dr Ng also had bilateral engagements with European Union Vice-President and High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, Ukrainian Minister of Defence Rustem Umerov, and Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President Dr Anwar Gargash.
